two halves of the room are vaugely similar, one has more posters, the other more books.
curtis looks at things, trying to remember. but none of this is familiar to him. he pokes at clothes. one set of clothing obviously fits him better.
"are you sure this is my room? my stuff?"

"it looks like the clothes fit you. None of this is familiar? It matches your name. Do you know that band? Or what happens in this book?"
Dani searches. for...clues.

Asha makes a tsking noise and starts tinkering with the safe, trying to fine a way in. (3 on burglary)
She also hands the shower caddy over to Dani for inspection.

tinkering with safe takes you a bit (10 min). the lock is fairly simple, but unfamiliar. It's just meant to be a deterent to fire. it's really not even all that heavy enough to keep theft from being an issue. horray for the illusion of safety.

Asha puts on her black gloves and is careful to gingerly lift papers, only touching the middle top of each document.

I make separate piles, 1 has his birth certificate, original social security card.
2) has copies of documents (all of the ones that are copies), warranty information for laptop and phone, info on student loans, passport, pair of silver cufflinks, title of his car and spare key to his car, cash.
3) has the will.

"Curtis, do you remember seeing a laptop recently, maybe in the car?"

Asha gives the first pile a look over and checks to see if there is anything written out of the ordinary of discrepancies between the real documents and the copies in pile two, if nothing is out of the ordinary she hands pile one back to Curtis.  She then looks around for some sort of trapper keeper or envelopes, something to put the other papers in to keep safe. (investigation 1)  Asha also tries to remember if she knows anyone that could be bribed into checking for fingerprints or other forensic evidence that might be on the papers (contacts 4)

"I will be giving most of this to you Curtis, as it is yours, but I want to see if there are any clues about what might have happened to you.  I will try not to keep stuff long though" The corner of Asha's mouth tilts, up, her pleasure at finding some solid leads evident.

She points to the phone, which is hopefully in a baggy, but barring that she rolls a shirt around it along with the ring.  "Do you remember the phone?  Also, please choose a 4 digit pin number."

Oops, lazy typing, he doesn't have a phone in there, the warrenty information is for an android. I meant to put "-android" on the warrently line, but it got on the origional social security card info.

As you look closely at the documents 2 obvious things: there are two photographs pressed in the warranty information of his laptop. picture of a young woman is old and creased. and picture of an older guy in a stern suit.
secondly, the car title is for John Martin, not for Curtis.

Curtis tries to remember.
"no. sorry. But trunks have storage space?" desperate to be helpful!

in your contacts: you know of a couple people who can pull the finger prints, it's running them through a system that's the tricky part. There's one cop you know of that could be convinced to do it for you; he's had a history of looking the other way, and not the greatest person in the world.

shakes his head at phone question too.
"four digit? um, four.. four digit.. um four? four four four four?" Embarrased, ohgod i'm an idiot face.

Dani goes up and rubs a comforting hand along Curtis' shoulder, moving it off if he is uncomfortable about it.

"Now, I am sure there are all sorts of rules about picking pins. Why don't you give us those, and we will work from there?"

to asha: "Are those his parents? Should we try to find them?"

pins "Oh. right. um. random... but can be remembered... 9085?"

"I might be able to get more information, but it will take time."

So first I want to go to whoever is willing to check all this stuff for prints.

Dani checks to see if Asha or Curtis need anything else before she drives them back to the church.


She mentions that she'd love to do a movie night soon. But tonight she has plans with her /boyfriend/. With braggy, proud emphasis.

Dani, curtis says "I guess, if we're sure these are ok to take, I could take some clothes back. and not keep borrowning church ones."
