Old back story, in rough time line order.

dani is born, and the first family to foster her adopts her as soon as they can. it's one of the most traumatic things that has happened to her vanilla life aside from wearing the same thing as Marrissa to Whitney's birthday party.

George's wife is killed by... rabid animals? vampires?
he joins the clergy to find meaning and solace. Later, he follows signs that point him to join the military

Asha is mugged and assumes the mantle of death

George finds a holy relic before he is discharged with honors and a purple heart. The military happily pays for his Master of Divinity, and he becomes a full fledged priest at St Mary's Cathedral Church.

Sam's family is gunned down, he falls into a deep depression

Asha kills her grandfather, and travels to her hometown of Indianapolis

Dani starts college

Sam summons a demon to deal with his misery

man, Dani is looking at this list and feeling pretty vanilla.

Father George (12/2) and Asha (12/1)find a plot for drugs to be distributed through St Mary's.
(12/4)Asha kills the distributer, and George learns more about Red Court vampires. this is certainly what killed his beloved family.
(12/5)Dani's interviewed about a possible link between his father and the dead priest/vampire. Dani and his sparkly high heels are on the news for a couple days.

(12/6) Sam and Dani take their cars into Emerson Automotive for maintenace. dani is looking for Cute Boy, and Sam is finally working on getting his car back in working order. depressed wizards and mechanical things do not mix well. also it is good to get back in touch with business folk.
Dani gets picked up by another boy instead, this one an obnoxious douchbag. Sam magicks the fake ids and credit cards to uslessness outside the club he took her to.
Drawn to the near suicidal energy Dani has, and also thinking she looks like someone from the news recently, Asha takes Dani to a tea shop. They get acquainted.

(12/8 ) Sam summons up some Sand Cats in order to start building his revenge against the mafia. they intercept a deal going down on the east side. Anger brings back some weapons with the serial numbers scratched off, Envy comes back with money and a portfolio of information involving ANOTHER woman the mafia was going to kill.
Joy... found a person with sparkly shoes and an even sparklier car. They are at some occult shop. Joy doesn't want to leave the happy people, but it endevors to hurry home. the sparkly person gives it a ride in the sparkly car! yay for Joy!
Sparkly Dani tries to find where Joy was going, but is foiled by the weather and impractical foot wear.

Meanwhile, (12/7)Asha has a client who wants her to kill someone, but during reconisance, Asha realizes that the woman is a key witness to a mafia murder. Asha is willing to decline the job, but worried that some other assassin will take the job.
(12/9) The woman seeks shelter at St Mary's Cathedral. Asha follows her in, to find Father George providing santuary. the father and Asha hatch a plan to fake the woman's death.
Sandcat Sam follows the information he uncovered from Envy's stolen portfolio, and comes to the Cathedral to ask about her under the guise of offering a donation. He happens to overhear the assassin and Father George making plans to fake the witness' death. Sam offers his assistance and instructs them to bring the woman by one of his competitors new work sites the next day. An 'accident' would most certainly happen there due to their shoddy safety procedures. He also casually plugs his political platform and information about elections coming up.
(12/10) At the appinted time the next day, a heavy platform topples over with only a little help from the sorcerer, and seems to crush the poor girl. The corpse that is dug out later that day resembles her enough even with massive damage that she's declared dead.

Asha will be collecting her payement for services rendered.

Asha asks her what she knows on the Mafia that would be worth her life.

Sam, having done his part in foiling the endeavor, still believes that she should be placed into some kind of protective custody and allowed to testify. However he will deny any allegations of his involvement with the girls "death" and subsequent rebirth should the topic ever arise.
